In gravity die casting, a heated metal mold, known as a die, is filled with molten metal using gravity. The process, which can be performed both manually and robotically, is an excellent choice for batch sizes from 50 pieces upwards. One of the main advantages is the relatively low tooling cost compared to other casting methods. Depending on the design and cost of the part, either sand or steel cores are used.
